EXPOSITION PASTEL EN GARE

Four artists who are passionate about dry pastel have come together for an exhibition dedicated to this captivating medium. They have invited a sculptor, Micham, to join them.

Sylvie Berman draws nature in great detail, seeking to celebrate the beauty of even the humblest grasses and trees, using her pastel sticks to apply both line and color in a single stroke.

Chem, Françoise Chemla, has been working with pastels for a long time, drawing very regularly “from life” in nature. Her favorite subjects: water flowers, water lilies and lotuses, and the landscapes of the Minervois throughout the seasons—whose freshness, softness, and accuracy of color and light have earned her great acclaim at numerous art shows in France and Canada.

Vladyslav Kvitkovskyi, originally from Donetsk (Ukraine), lives in Carcassonne and works in various media, including dry pastel, to paint city and countryside landscapes “from life” with perfect mastery of drawing and color, imbued with a profound sense of poetry.

Micham (Michèle Amelin), a visual artist, masters various techniques and materials—painting and sculpture—depending on the themes she wishes to explore. Her wooden sculptures, carved from a single plank, become trees soaring toward the sky, their bark and grain twisting in a language that fascinates us: that of nature itself...
