ESCALADEZ LE MONT HORTUS
L'hortus means "garden" in latin. this major site for climbing in the hérault region is a rare pearl. it culminates at 520m altitude and is located on the south face of the region's other famous mountain, pic saint-loup. its face is visible from all over the montpellier region, and is characteristically 110m high and 1km wide. it is made of white limestone whose density, color and shape make it one of the world's most impressive rock faces.
